Project Management 101

Every web or graphic design brief, no matter the size, should be treated as a full-scale project. Adopting the fundamental project management methodologies will ensure your project is delivered to the specified requirements/quality, and save everybody’s time and resources to complete each project.

One of the most common practice I’d like to share with you today is segmenting your project into 4 essential life cycle stages – from pre-planning, planning, development to finish.

Every kind of project must go through the 4 stages. As the above diagram depicts, the life cycle is represented by a pyramid climbing upwards to the finishing stage. Pre-planning and planning sits at the bottom as the core foundation of your project, the more time and effort you dedicate to building your plans the stronger your project management becomes.

For this article I’d like to share with you my thoughts on project management, and how it is applied for eCommerce projects and web design (or any design) briefs.

Girl Attacked by Pit Bull – Whom to Blame?

Pit BullRecently I’ve heard local news that a little girl near Whakatane was attacked by 2 vicious pit bulls. A brave women nearby ran up to save her and was also bitten very bad in the process. Consequently, the girl went through 10 hours of surgery, the 2 pit bulls were put down and the owner (according to the radio news) was fined $1,100. I’m not sure if further charges would be press but, the girl is most certain to be scarred for life, if $1,100 is all the owner gets away with then I will be very disappointed with the justice system.

Wake up people! Look at the source of the problem.

There has been a lot of pit bull related incidents, and often quite brutally depicted, and people have been voicing about banning and putting down these animals – in my opinion, no one has really looked hard enough to solve from the inner core of the problem.
